Mason Maniak
Introduced in 1984, The Mason Maniak would remain Mason's offical mascot until 1997. Presented as a devilish and often comedic monster, the Mason Maniak would often act erratic and ridiculous to incite audience reaction. While the introduction of the Maniak would elimate the capacity for the mascot to speak, his costume turned a mascot into an offical character capable of representing the university. John Victor would continue as Mason's Mascot with the introduction of the Mason Maniak.
