The Resolution

Description

At the 1956 General Assembly Session, representatives from the Northern Virginia Delegation brought forth their case to submit a resolution creating a Northern Virginia branch of the University of Virginia. Mann added a point of the branch only providing instructional facilities for two years of collegiate instruction to gain the favor of southern delegates. The bill was passed in both the House and Senate, allowing Northern Virginia the legal authority to build a permanent college.
