Hidden Histories: LGBTQ+ History at Mason
The purpose of this exhibit is to uncover some of the hidden histories involving the queer Mason population and the LGBTQ+ (formerly known as GLBT) and Women and Gender Studies Resource Centers.
We, as the group of students working on this part of Mason’s history, feel that it is important to preserve the stories of marginalized groups. This is especially the case when the political climate becomes hostile and unstable. The exhibit will cover a variety of topics, utilizing oral histories from faculty members and a student, news and articles from student publications, and historical images dating LGBTQ+ presence on campus.
