Title

WestBoro Baptist Meets Peaceful Counter Protest

Description

Nearly one month after George Mason crowned a drag queen as Homecoming Queen, WestBoro Baptist Church organized a picket against the University's upcoming Pride Week. The group of 10 were seen holding signs such as those stating "God Hates You" and "American is Doomed". The group was met with a counter protest hosted by the University's Pride Alliance and the Driving Equality Project. The event raised over $580 for LGBTQ+ resources and the WBC group left 10 minutes early from their scheduled protest time.
