Description
People with disabilities often encounter unique mental and emotional challenges in social situations. While experiences vary widely, stigma & stereotypes can evoke prejudice based on their disability no matter how visible. Social exclusion of groups may be intentional creating a sense of anxiety. Anxiety can errupt from fear of being misunderstood or judged. As well as communication barriers leading to a sense of disconnect or being overlooked. These challenges can take an emotional toll and impact self-esteem, confidence, and mental well-being. However, inclusive practices and supportive social environments can make a significant difference. Something George Mason Prides Itself In.
