This spread features the 1968–69 George Mason men’s basketball team during a tough season filled with injuries and challenges. Led by captain Jim Heston and Coach Hap Spuhler, the team fought hard despite limited wins. Interestingly, this was the first year all GMC teams were called the “Patriots,” though how the name came to be is still unclear.
