Title A name given to the resource Black GMU Student At Winter Commencement Festival in 1971 Description An account of the resource A young black man participates the winter commencement festival in which he is graduating the winter of 1971. This is during a time where there was still racial divide and turmoil within the GMU campus, which inherently could cause black students at GMU to feel unwanted or just outright segregated and discriminated against. This image shows that even with that racial divide, and with being a minority, this did not stop the goals of this young man being fulfilled. This is a clear example of how it may have been like to be a student at GMU at this time.
