There were around fifty cars that traveled in what was described as a "pilgrimage." Upon arrival they were presented by the Curator of Gunston Hall  with a framed copy of the indenture papers of William Buckland, who was held as a servant and was responsible for designing Gunston Hall.</text>

There are misleading signs on the three students intended to taunt slavery as the female student chains them up with a smile, clearly taunting the tragedies and emotional significance of slavery. This clearly conveys the sick extents that were taken to mock black people and what they have overcame, at the expense of money.</text>

                <text>While many college sports fans are familiar with the George Mason University Men’s Basketball team’s run to the Final Four in 2006, not as many know about the Mason Women’s Soccer team’s National Championship title of 21 years earlier. The author of this post recalls reading about this achievement in the student newspaper, then called Broadside, while an 18-year-old freshman at Mason back in 1985. With the A-10 Conference Championship Tournament beginning this Thursday, November 3, it is as good a time as any to take a look back at what happened 31 years ago this month.</text>

                <text>A young black man participates the winter commencement festival in which he is graduating the winter of 1971. This is during a time where there was still racial divide and turmoil within the GMU campus, which inherently could cause black students at GMU to feel unwanted or just outright segregated and discriminated against. This image shows that even with that racial divide, and with being a minority, this did not stop the goals of this young man being fulfilled. This is a clear example of how it may have been like to be a student at GMU at this time.</text>
